Setting the Rhythm for Festivals: Côtes du Rhône Brought the Summer of 2026 to Life

The 2026 summer tour marked a significant milestone for Côtes du Rhône, featuring an expanded presence at several major cultural and culinary events. The goal was to introduce the appellation's diverse wines to new audiences in settings where passion, discovery, and sharing come together. The appellation reaffirmed its commitment to being present where shared emotions are created, offering tasting experiences that were convivial, accessible, and festive.

This year, for the first time, the appellation made its mark at two major, nationally renowned music festivals: the Main Square Festival in Arras and Musilac in Aix-les-Bains. This presence illustrates the Côtes du Rhône’s desire to establish a lasting connection with major contemporary cultural events.

As a key early-season event, the Lyon Street Food Festival in June offered visitors an immersive experience in food and wine pairing. In a 600 m² space dedicated entirely to the Côtes du Rhône and Côtes du Rhône Villages appellations, festival-goers enjoyed free tastings and wine workshops, exploring the full aromatic richness of Rhône wines. In an atmosphere blending food, culture, and music, the experience demonstrated just how naturally Côtes du Rhône wines fit into today's gastronomic trends.

Summer 2026 also marked the arrival of Côtes du Rhône wines at two major music festivals.
At the Main Square Festival in Arras—which drew over 125,000 festival-goers to the stunning setting of the UNESCO-listed Citadel—Côtes du Rhône and Côtes du Rhône Villages wines were available at all festival bars, complemented by dedicated container-style stands branded in the appellation's colors.

Then the appellation was at Musilac, one of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region's most iconic festivals, where more than 110,000 attendees discovered the wines amidst a spectacular landscape of lake and mountains. It was a successful debut that offered the chance to connect with a curious audience eager for new experiences.

As a festival partner, Côtes du Rhône once again connected with the Jazz à Vienne audience, marking the ninth consecutive year of the collaboration. Over the course of more than two weeks, visitors could sample 22 different wines served at the festival bars.

With over 200,000 festival-goers and nearly 1,000 artists featured each year, Jazz à Vienne provides a fantastic platform to showcase the values of sharing and conviviality embodied by Côtes du Rhône wines.

It is impossible to talk about the Côtes du Rhône summer season without mentioning the Avignon Wine Bar. For its 19th edition, this iconic event once again enlivened the evenings of the Avignon Festival, welcoming winemakers, cooperatives, and estates from the Rhône Valley each night to the delight of festival-goers.

From July 3 to 25, visitors could discover between 15 and 20 different wines each evening in a convivial atmosphere featuring tastings, meetings with producers, and musical entertainment. A true extension of the festival experience, the Côtes du Rhône Wine Bar remains one of the strongest symbols of the bond between the Côtes du Rhône region and Avignon’s cultural life.

Throughout this summer tour, several content creators and influencers accompanied Côtes du Rhône to various festivals, sharing their experiences firsthand.

Through immersive videos, culinary discoveries, and interactions with on-site teams,  @shareaglassfr, @nicestorique (@tom_obry) and @bulles_de_vie shared their perspectives on the tour's highlights. Their content highlighted the festival atmosphere, the convivial nature of the Côtes du Rhône areas, the diversity of the wines tasted, and the moments shared with festival-goers. It was an authentic way to introduce these appellations to new communities and to show that Côtes du Rhône wines naturally belong at major summer cultural, musical, and gastronomic events. Through their perspectives, the convivial moments experienced this summer resonated far beyond the festivals themselves, projecting a modern, accessible, and unpretentious image of Côtes du Rhône wines.
